Through ten different wine tastes we will visit and discuss many different French wine regions - some famous, and some that deserve to be: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Loire Valley . . . Hop in the "van du vin" and let's get going! Class members must be twenty-one or older.

Now we're off to that boot-shaped place where food wines are the delicious emphasis. Perhaps we'll break out a bit of salami and cheese as we take this geographical wine tour. A little protein and an open mind is all we'll need to "get" these Italian wines - and you'll be "getting" ten different wine experiences! Tuscany, Piedmont, Alto Adige, Puglia . . . we have a bit of travelling to do! Class members must be twenty-one or older.

We finish our series with what has become our most popular "wine country class." Many Americans learned about French and Italian wines long before they knew about Spain, but that Iberian country is doing a lot to make up for lost time! This class will show us the flavorful Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Monastrell grapes (among others) and visits to Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and other more recently-discovered regions. A few tasty tapas will be included in the evening. Salud! Class members must be twenty-one or older.

In the classroom, we will study the arriving Warblers, Tanagers, Orioles and Flycatchers using digital photos and your field guides. Learn about our south-of-the-border colorful neo-tropic migrant song birds arriving to nest in our valley. Arrive in class with your field guide and binoculars. Our Saturday field trip will be on 5/1 from 8:30 - 2:00 p.m. when we will visit a local forest area seeking these sometimes hard to locate migrants.

Bring all your wine questions and an open mind to this informative and tasty class! By tasting ten different wines and discussing several different topics you'll become a more confident wine adventurer - but not a wine snob! Deciphering wine labels, the importance of good stemware, the difference between "Old World" and "New World" wines, and many other subjects will be explored. Come expose yourself to the wonderful world of wine! Class members must be twenty-one or older.

In the classroom you will view wintering ducks, wading birds and sandpipers using digital photos and your field guides. We'll prepare for our Saturday field trip on 3/20 from 8:30 - 2:00 p.m. when we will travel to a select location in San Francisco seeking a wide variety of water birds.
